I was thinking the other day about how fall used to be a time where we just worried about harvesting, hauling, fertilizing and then getting the tillage done. It seemed like a much more laid back season. In farming today, however, we have many more things to worry about; things like fall spraying, assessing hybrid successes and recent pest issues and incorporating those into early seed ordering, reviewing our nitrogen program successes and failures (see End of Season Cornstalk test below), getting tiling projects under way, or maybe getting cover crops established and/or getting that strip till rig across a bunch of Acres.
